About Currentia Energy

Currentia is an energy retailer with one idea: a flat rate that doesn't expire. No introductory discount, no benefit period, no letter in eleven months telling you your rate has changed.

We supply four states, offset every kilowatt hour, and run a hardship program you enter with one phone call.

What we stand for

Mission

Make an energy bill something you can predict a year in advance.

Vision

An energy market where nobody needs a comparison site because nobody is being quietly repriced.

Values

We will tell you to stay with your current retailer if their deal is genuinely better. We publish our rates on one page. And we never charge a late fee to someone on a hardship plan.

Sustainability & ESG

Every plan is 100% carbon offset through Climate Active certified projects, and we publish the project register annually. We buy 42% of our supply from contracted renewables and we report that number whether it went up or down.

Privacy policy

Currentia Energy collects only what it needs to do the work, keeps it for three years, and anonymises rather than deletes so the record of what happened survives the person leaving.

How to complain, and what happens next

A complaint reaches the owner the same day. You get an answer within two working days and a named person who owns it until it is closed.

Frequently asked

What's the catch with a flat rate?

There isn't one, but it means we're not the cheapest headline number. Retailers with big discounts are cheaper in year one and dearer in year two. We're the same both years.

Are you available at my address?

We supply in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and South East Queensland. Put your address into the site and it'll tell you in a second — some embedded networks we can't service.

How long does switching take?

Three to five business days. Your supply never gets interrupted; it's a paperwork change at the meter.

Is there a lock-in or exit fee?

Neither. Leave whenever you like and we won't charge you for it.

What if I can't pay a bill?

Call the hardship line. You don't need to prove anything twice — one conversation, and we'll set a plan and stop late fees while it's in place.
