What we'd tell you not to spend money on
Most pre-sale advice is a list of things to buy. Half of ours is a list of things to leave alone: the kitchen you were going to replace, the garden bed nobody will look at, the carpet that will be pulled up by whoever buys it.
Repaint, declutter, fix what's broken. That's usually the whole list.
