We roast Monday and Thursday in small batches and sell the coffee three ways: online and by subscription, at the roastery bar, and wholesale to forty cafés and offices. We also teach the barista academy upstairs and service espresso machines on our own bench, because the best coffee in the world tastes bad through a scaled-up boiler. ### Our story Nadia opened Copperline in 2016 with a 5kg roaster in a garage in St Peters. The first wholesale customer was the café at the end of the street, which still buys from us. The service bench started because our cafés kept losing a day's trade waiting for a technician. Now we send one. ### Values A roast date on every bag. Green coffee bought from importers who can name the farm. Wholesale partners visited every month, not every contract renewal. And staff paid above award, including the Saturday roster. ### Privacy policy Copperline Coffee Roasters collects only what it needs to do the work, keeps it for three years, and anonymises rather than deletes so the record of what happened survives the person leaving. ### How to complain, and what happens next A complaint reaches the owner the same day. You get an answer within two working days and a named person who owns it until it is closed. ## Capabilities - Small-batch roasting - Barista training - Espresso machine service - Wholesale café support ## Relationships - Accrediting body: Specialty Coffee Association (https://sca.coffee) - Accrediting body: Australian Certified Organic (https://aco.net.au) - Partner: Alexandria Business Chamber ## Eligibility & access - Certified organic range: yes — ACO-certified processor - Decaffeinated without solvents: yes — Swiss Water process - Wheelchair accessible roastery bar: yes — Step-free from Bourke Road - Academy courses, 16 and over: yes ## Coverage - Sydney metro courier (40km radius, fee 0) - Australia-wide post (fee 12) ## Inventory - [Menu item] Espresso — $4.50 (daypart: All day, dietary: Vegan, section: Bar) - [Menu item] Filter of the week — $6 (daypart: All day, dietary: Vegan, section: Bar) - [Menu item] Cold brew tonic — $7 (daypart: All day, section: Bar) - [Menu item] Almond croissant — $6.50 (daypart: Morning, section: Food, allergens: Nuts, gluten, dairy) ## Open roles - Production roaster — Alexandria NSW (FULL_TIME) https://copperline.demo.agoria.studio/careers/production-roaster - Weekend barista — Alexandria NSW (PART_TIME) https://copperline.demo.agoria.studio/careers/weekend-barista ## Documents - Certificate of currency — public liability $20M: https://demo-copperline.demo.agoria.studio/docs/public-liability.pdf - Copperline Coffee Roasters — capability statement: https://demo-copperline.demo.agoria.studio/docs/capability.pdf ## What customers ask before they decide These are the questions this business's buyers actually work through, in order, with the settled answer to each. The bag says when it was roasted and it's never older than four days when it lands. - ★★★★★ Tom B.: Fixed my machine and told me what I'd done wrong — Descaling with vinegar, apparently. They fixed the boiler, showed me the right way, and didn't upsell me a new machine. - ★★★★★ Sarah K.: The barista course is the real thing — Four hours on a commercial machine with somebody who has trained half the baristas in Surry Hills. I'm pouring hearts now. - ★★★★ Dan P.: Great coffee, slow-ish courier to the Hills — Coffee is excellent. The courier took three days to Castle Hill instead of the promised two — they told me before I had to ask. - ★★★★★ The Grind Room (café): Wholesale that actually visits — They calibrate our grinder every month and trained our new staff for free. We've had three other roasters; none of them came back after the contract. ## FAQ Q: How fresh is the coffee when it arrives? A: Every bag carries its roast date.
